The action-packed TV ad premiered on Saturday in a special one-off slot, during the first ad break of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV.

Jonathan Warburton said: “We are the biggest baker in the UK to deliver fresh bread everyday. Our team of bakers and delivery drivers work around the clock, 362 days a year, to get fresh bread into the nation’s supermarkets all year round. It was amazing to see our real-life everyday baking heroes, star alongside an action legend.”

“Sylvester was a natural behind the wheel of the Warburtons trucks, although we did need to remind him to get in the right-hand side of the cab.

“ I’ve let him know that if he ever fancies a change of career there will be job delivering fresh bread waiting for him.”

The Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot star said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bolton and particularly loved spending time in the bakery. Maybe I should have stopped beating up bad guys a long time ago and gone into baking instead.”

The 68-year-old was spotted filming the advert in Bolton in January and recreated a famous scene from the iconic boxing film Rocky on the steps of the town hall.

Stallone scaled the steps in a black military style beret and vest featuring the Warburtons logo for a television advert.

His surprise appearance was kept under wraps by bosses, but left bystanders in Victoria Square gobsmacked when they realised who the “camouflaged” star was.

Stallone was filmed leading a crowd of people running up the steps of the town hall, holding a loaf of bread in each hand for the advert.

Warburtons is one of Burnley’s biggest employers, and still makes its sandwich thins in the town.
