BLACK Eyed Peas star Taboo is the latest big name in the world of music to perform in East Lancashire.

The singer, actor and rapper, best known for performing alongside Fergie, Will I Am, and Apl.de.ap in the chart-topping band, will perform at Level One Nightclub, in Market Street, Darwen on Friday.

Club owner Leon Kelly said: "This is absolutely huge for the town and the venue.

"We have managed to get this show at the last minute due to him being in the UK.

"Taboo obviously is a member of one of the biggest bands in the world and to bring one of them to Darwen is a huge thing."

Level One has attracted several big names in the past six months, including Jess Glynne, Fatman Scoop, Cascada, and Nelly.

The Black Eyed Peas have had several hits since forming in the 90s, including Where Is The Love?, Don't Phunk With My Heart, My Humps, Pump It, Boom Boom Pow, and I Gotta Feeling.

The club will open its doors from 11pm, and will charge £10 on the door to see Taboo.
