ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Janet Anderson has criticised Conservative leader David Cameron for proposing tax hikes for frequent flyers.

Labour MP Mrs Anderson said: "Slapping a tax on frequent air travellers, regardless of their personal or family circumstances, is insulting.

"Such an increase will penalise relatives visiting families abroad and families that are separated for reasons beyond one's own control.

"I support the government's alternative proposals to create incentives to reduce carbon emissions, rather than the Conservative Party's proposal to punish citizens by introducing higher tax for frequent flyers."
