AN asylum seeker has been jailed for seven months after he admitted sex attacks on two boys.

But a sheriff made no supervision order for when 50-year-old Aamir Berghani leaves jail, even though a social report says he poses a "medium risk" of re-offending.

Social workers suggested he should be monitored when he is released, but Sheriff Charles McFarlane, QC, claimed it was not necessary in light of Berghani's continuing bid to stay in the country.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Berghani was bisexual and had confessed to finding "a sexual attraction" towards children.

He pounced on two 12-year-old boys just months after arriving in the UK from Iran.

The married dad-of-two, who has been living away from his family at a Glasgow hotel, attacked one boy at Bellahouston Sports Centre last May.

When police arrived, it was found Berghani was responsible for another attack at a community centre in Govan.
