POLICE are using giant television screens in a bid to trace a man who disappeared more than 10 days ago.

Iain Nicolson, 21, was reported missing on Friday, February 2, after failing to return home from a night out in Glasgow city centre the previous evening.

A fears grow for his safety Iain's photo has been posted on 10 plasma screens across the city and his worried parents have appealed for information.

His mother Linda, 50, who is a childminder, said: "It has been like a living nightmare. I wonder where he is, if he's okay, if he is still alive, if he will walk through the door.

"I hope he has met someone and gone away, I hope he's not hurt or in hospital. I just need to know he is all right. It is very difficult not to think unpleasant thoughts."

Iain had been working at Marks and Spencer in Milngavie to raise money for a trip to Australia.

He was last seen by friends at about 1.05am when he left Karbon nightclub in Buchanan Street.

It is believed he then walked into Gordon Street on his own.

His dad Donald, a civil servant, last saw him as he left for the night out.

Donald, 50, said: "He didn't appear to have any worries.

"We just want a phone call or someone to say they have seen him.

"You've got to remain positive. I know he is alive."

The plea for information is appearing at major shopping locations including Central Station, Buchanan Bus Station, St Enoch Shopping Centre, the Forge Shopping Centre and Debenhams.

Iain is 6ft 3in tall, of average build, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with light brown stripes, a white T-shirt, jeans and brown loafers.

He also wore silver dog tags and always carried an SoS emergency bracelet because he is allergic to penicillin.
