CRAIG BROWN has compared Rangers veteran David Weir to Italian legend Paolo Maldini.
The former Scotland boss said: "He is Scotland's Maldini. Davie has terrific intelligence, and this intelligence tells him this is the best job in the world.
"No job - not even the manager's job - is better than playing. Davie is insightful enough to think forward and say, I will keep myself in the best possible nick and I will play for as long as I can'. I think every player in Scottish football should look at him.
"Danny McGrain went on and on, and he was a terrific role model too. Even at the height of your career you should be saying, I want to stay in this game'."
