BURY will be going wild at this year's Britain in Bloom finals.
The borough has been shortlisted by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the Small City category along with Rugby, Stevenage, Durham, Horsham and Bangor.
The RHS has chosen the theme "Bloomin' Wild" for the finalists, encouraging entries to demonstrate effective designing and planting for wildlife.
Simon Thornton-Wood, RHS director of science and learning, said: "Increased urbanisation and modern farming have eroded almost all natural habitat for our native species of wildlife. Everyone can make a contribution to the design and planting of private and public spaces to encourage insects, amphibians, birds and mammals."
