THE boyfriend of tragic Zoe Milton is continuing to fundraise in her memory by embarking on a 600 mile bike ride to France.
Rick White and his friend Gareth Williams plan to ride from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower in August for Bolton Hospice — where the mum-of-one received palliative care up until her death on September 21 after a battle with cervical cancer.
During her treatment the 28-year-old herself had requested that for any money raised should be given to the hospice.
The two friends will set off on a pre-planned route on August 7 — and hope that hotels or bed and breakfasts along the way will donate a room to them to sleep on each night of their trip.
Mr White, an electrician from Horwich, said: "I wanted to continue raising money for the hospice and thought that a bike ride would be a good way to do it.
"I also hope it will encourage other women to get checked out.
"Gaz and I came across the idea of going from tower to tower on the internet. We will be doing about 100 miles a day, which I have never done before. The furthest I have cycled is from Southport to Bolton, so it will definitely be a challenge."
Father-of-one Mr White is continuing on from the £80,000 that was made in Miss Milton's name for the hospice just three months after her death.
Mr Williams, aged 31, said: "Zoe was into horses and Rick said he wanted to do something to
"So far we are thinking we will go from Blackpool to Nantwich, to Northampton, Brentwood, Dover, then a ferry to Calais, to Amiens, then Paris.
"Our target is £2,000 but obviously we would like to raise more than that. The hospice has done so much for so many people as well as Zoe — it is a very worthwhile cause."
