A man has been charged with attempted murder in Bolton.

Jake Ramsden, aged 21, of Old Mill Close, Horwich, was also charged with two counts of assault and appeared before magistrates on Wednesday, March 18.

He did not enter a plea and is due to appear for the first time at Bolton Crown Court on April 2.

Lee Ramsden, aged 43, of Bleak Street, Tonge Moor, has been charged with perverting the course of justice and is due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on March 31. The charges relate to an incident in Huntroyd Avenue, Tonge Moor on March 14, which left a 42-year-old man in hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 23-year-old woman was also injured but is no longer in hospital.

Two women, aged 25 and 22, and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
