THE masked Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John", who featured in the video of the beheading of Bolton convoy aid worker Alan Henning, has been named.
He is Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti-born British man in his mid-20s from west London, who was previously known to British security services.
Emwazi has been described as "extremely kind" and "extremely gentle" by a man who has known him since 2009.
Asim Qureshi, a director with British advocacy group Cage, which claims Emwazi was interrogated by MI5 and subjected to security agency harrassment, said: "You might be surprised to know that the Mohammed that I knew was extremely kind, extremely gentle, extremely soft spoken, was the most humble young person that I knew."
