A 700-PUPIL Muslim faith all-boys' school has been given the final green light by council chiefs.
The £10 million Eden Faith boys' school planned for Wolfenden Street was approved by Keith Davies, director of regeneration and development at Bolton Council, on Thursday, November 13.
The planning committee had given its approval at a meeting in September, with the school to be built on the old Wolfenden School in Astley Bridge.
Although it will be a Muslim faith school, staff have said the school will welcome applications from families of all faiths in a bid to promote community cohesion in the area.
The final decision was delegated to Mr Davies to iron out any technical issues, including traffic management, before rubber-stamping the plans.
