MORE than £8,000 of power tools have been stolen from a van in Clitheroe.

Police said that the white Peugeot Boxer van was broken into between 8pm on Friday and 7am on Saturday.

Power saws, two 16-inch nail guns, two drills, hand saws, hand tools and chain saws were among the items taken.

Sgt David Simpson of Clitheroe Police said that the total value of the stolen items was £8.500.

The van was parked on a driveway outside a house in Brungerley Avenue.

A red Audi A3 was broken into in Barker Lane in Mellor between midnight on Friday and 10am on Saturday.

A black Citroen Berlingo was also broken into in Whalley Road, Barrow, between 9.30pm on Friday and 8.50am on Saturday.

Police said that nothing was taken in either incident.
