BOLTON Wanderers have unveiled a third shirt in "military green".

£10 from each sale of the new shirt will support Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, a charity for amputee war veterans.

Just 1,000 of the limited edition shirts will be made available, which club and charity bosses hope will raise £10,000 for the charity if they are all snapped up.

Wanderers season ticket holders can pre-order a shirt via the club’s website from 10am on Friday, September 26.

Any remaining shirts, which are £44.99 for adults and £34.99 for juniors, will go on general sale on Tuesday, October 14.

The shirt has the words “Lest We Forget” embossed on the reverse with words from Laurence Binyon’s poem “For The Fallen” featured inside the neck label.

Whites chairman Phil Gartside said: “Everyone at Bolton Wanderers is proud to be supporting Blesma and the incredible work they do in supporting our limbless veterans.

“Our special thanks also go to Macron for producing another high quality bespoke shirt in support of this initiative."

Each of the shirts will come in a special presentation box, and there is also a bucket collection for Blesma planned ahead of this Saturday’s match with Derby County.

The limited edition kit will be worn by Wanderers players at selected away matches this season.

Blesma chief executive Barry Le Grys said: “Blesma formed in the aftermath of World War One with amputee veterans helping each other showing teamwork in adversity.

"Today, our members face the realities of limb loss every day of their lives, but with support like this they will not be alone as they strive for independence and purpose. We are immensely grateful.”

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, formed in 1932, is Wanderers’ charity partner for 2014/15, and supports all limbless serving and ex-servicemen and women, their widows and dependants.

Its 4,000-strong membership includes veterans from World War Two all the way through to those who fought in Afghanistan, and includes people who have lost a limb, an eye or the sight of an eye.
