A WOMAN has been charged with theft after items were stolen from two shops in Bury town centre.
Codruta Balia, aged 38, of no fixed abode, is charged with two counts of theft and is due before Bury Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
It follows reports that attempts had been made to steal property from shoppers' bags and pockets at the H&M and Primark shops on The Rock.
Det Insp Denise Pye said: "We believe there may be other people involved so our inquiries to identify these people are ongoing.
"I would advise people who are shopping to keep their bags and pockets closed and valuables secure and out of sight."
