THE owner of a pedigree cat attacked by a giant owl has spied the bird in his garden for a second time.

Mike Cafferty spotted a two-foot tall owl perched at the bottom of his garden at 7.15am on September 3.

This time the barn owl did nothing more than make a lot of noise, having previously launched itself at Mr Cafferty’s Bengal Leopard cat Chester, aged four, on August 31.

Mr Cafferty said: “I managed to get a good view of it this time and it was huge, not something I would want attacking me.

“I wonder whether it may have escaped from an owner because it seems too tame to be a wild bird.

“We are a bit worried about putting the cat out at all now.”
