A MAN broke his foot this morning after jumping out of a first floor window.

Ambulance staff called police to the incident at 7.30am at an address in Tonge Moor Road, close to the junction with Crompton Way, after the 22-year-old told paramedics he had fallen trying to get away from someone else in the house.

He refused to give police a statement, however, and declined to take the matter further.

The man was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.

Salford is the trauma centre for this side of Manchester. Anyone with major or potential for major trauma will go to Salford.
