First published in News

A LARGE traveller camp has been moved on from land in Pilsworth.

About 40 people in more than 30 caravans had set up camp on the site of the old bowling alley at Park 66 last week.

The private land is owned by Matthews and Goodwin Limited, based in Manchester city centre, who used their own agents to evict the travellers.

Most left the site on Tuesday with a further notice to serve issued yesterday. The remaining 15 caravans were expected to leave then.

Tell me about it. I watched a programme last year about them all heading to their horse fair and the police were pulling them over and one traveller who spoke on behalf of them all said they were being targeted by the police and it wasn't fair!!
The cheek of it.

Easy solution to paying for cleaning up. Seize property from them and auction it to cover cost.
