MANY pupils take home a signed shirt to remember their last day in class — but one Bury primary school decided to create a keepsake to last a lifetime.
Pupils and staff at Guardian Angels Primary School, in Leigh Lane, helped to create a music video to the soundtrack of the hit track ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
The video currently has more than 1,000 hits, and teachers are delighted to see the number is still increasing.
The finished article was played at the school’s leavers assembly last month for Year Six pupils, and Year Six teacher Debbie O’Boyle said it went down a storm.
She said: “We wanted to have something totally different for the leavers assembly this year so we came up with the idea of making a video.
“All of the staff have been on board and keen to be involved, which made our leavers assembly hilarious rather than a sombre occasion!”
The video features a range of memorable occasions during their time at the school, including a Year Six trip to Durham, a dress up day for World Book Day and a zumbathon, as well as a special guest appearance from Bury boxer Scott Quigg, who visited the school during national sports week.
