A BAR manager from Burnley has told how he feared for his life after he was robbed at knifepoint.

Martyn Biddulph, 24, was attacked by two men as he made his way home from a charity event in Nottingham city centre.

Thugs stole a wallet, cash and an iPhone from the former St Theodore’s RC High School pupil at around 3am yesterday.

Mr Biddulph, originally from Brunshaw Avenue, moved to Nottingham last June to work as an assistant manager at Yates’s.

The Clarets fan ran to the nearest hotel to ask for help after the terrifying ordeal in Goldsmith Street.

He said: “I had just been working a charity event at work, and I was walking home, which is only a 10 minute walk, when I could hear footsteps behind me.

“One guy shouted to ask if I had a lighter. I kept walking and could hear the footsteps getting louder so stepped up my pace.

“The next thing I knew one of them grabbed me from behind round the neck and dragged me round the corner down a side street.

“They both started to rifle through my pockets and the guy that didn’t have his arm round my neck flashed a knife at me then put it back in his pocket.

“They took my iPhone, wallet, money and bank card and ran away in opposite directions.”

Police were called and he spent three hours being questioned by them.

Mr Biddulph, who also attended St Mary’s College, Blackburn, and the University of Central Lancashire, said: “I definitely had moments where I was fearing for my life and felt helpless. I just put my arms in the air and wanted them to take whatever items they wanted and leave as quickly as possible.
