BOLTON television star Paddy McGuinness paid tribute to his father who fought in World War Two.

The 47-year-old Take Me Out host was moved by Monday’s events to mark 100 years since the outbreak of World War One.

He wrote on Twitter: “Some very poignant scenes last night for all those brave men and women who served in the First World War. #neverforget

“My dad was drafted during WW2. He was 16 years old with a club foot and off he went to fight for his country.

“Like most veterans he never really spoke about it but it must have been terrifying. Love you dad, RIP.”

His dad Joe died in the Royal Bolton Hospital, in January, at the age of 88.
