CCTV footage has been released of a man police want to speak to in connection with burglaries in the Ribble Valley.

Lancashire Police have issued the images after two incidents in Billington.

Officers said one home was entered through an unlocked door and the second home was was through an unlocked window. Items of value were taken from both properties.

Police are hoping the public can provide them with information after the burglaries which happened on Saturday, July 26.

Neighbourhood officer PC Mark Bewley said: “The team are keen to identify the male on the stills who is shown in the area at the relevant times. We are looking for anyone who saw this male in the Billington area on that Saturday morning or knows his identity.”

Last week police urged people to make sure their doors and windows were locked following a spate of burglaries in the area.

Sgt Dave Clarke said officers had received calls about burglaries in Billington, Whalley, Wilpshire and Langho over recent weeks. He said: “Please ensure you have locked your house up, shut all the windows and locked your car because we believe the offenders are also targeting unsecure vehicles.

“It is likely the burglars are travelling into the area.

“The Ribble Valley is a very safe area to live in, but people cannot be complacent.”

Anybody with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
