A FILM production company from Rawtenstall has landed a deal to shoot a promotional video for one of Canada’s biggest tourism companies.

Bigtank Productions, based at Loop Photography studio in New Hall Hey Business Park, has won a ‘substantial contract’ with Ontario-based cruise organiser Journeys by Jerry Van Dyke.

Helmshore brothers Rob and Brad Hallam, who founded the company in 2005, will spend 17 days next month travelling along the Danube river with cameraman Alex Dove to capture footage.

Bigtank, which has previously produced films for Hilton Hotels, American Airlines and TV chef Marco Pierre White, was recommended to Journeys by Golden Eagle Luxury Trains boss Tim Littler.

Rob Hallam, 42, said: “We shot a promo called Moscow to Mongolia for Tim last year and he bumped into Jerry Van Dyke at a business fair in America.

“Jerry mentioned he was looking for someone to shoot a film and Tim told him to look no further because he was delighted with our work.

“When we got the email from Canada we thought it was spam, but we phoned them up and got on instantly.

“To have them come to us is very humbling and we’re very proud to be doing this from little old Rawtenstall.”

Bigtank’s brief involves producing a three-minute clip for Journeys’ website, as well as a more detailed 20-minute segment going into more detail about its cruises, which can cost up to £20,000 per guest.

Mr Hallam, a former student at Woodhey High School, in Ramsbottom, said his firm was proud of its Rossendale roots.

He said: “We have recently finished a new marketing film for Rossendale Hospice, who we feel do an amazing job, and we were only too proud to help them get their word out.

“It shows you don’t necessarily have to be in Manchester or London to be known globally.”
