A KIND-hearted Bury girl has lost 10 inches of her “crowning glory” in her quest to help the Little Princess Trust.

Chloe Greenhalgh took the decision to have her hair cut for the charity after watching a TV programme which featured the story of two girls who had their locks shorn for the trust.

The charity provides real-hair wigs for children who have lost their own hair because of cancer treatment.

Although the 11-year-old has had trims in the past, this was the first proper haircut she had undergone, and her hair had grown down to her waist.

Chloe’s mum Justine, aged 34, said: “When she saw these two girls on Granada Tonight, Chloe said that was something she could do. We waited until two months later to make sure that Chloe was 100 per cent certain she wanted to do it.”

The haircut took place at the Visage hair salon in Walmersley Road, Bury.

Justine added:”It took about half an hour. Because we knew that it costs the charity £350 to make up a wig, we also raised £370 as an added bonus for the Little Princess Trust.

"We went round family, friends and work colleagues for donations. Chloe has never done anything like this before.”

Chloe, of Central Drive, who has three brothers, will be starting at Woodhey High School in Ramsbottom, after the summer holidays. Previously, she was a pupil at Springside Primary School in Bury.

Well done Chloe! That was a very kind thing to do. You should be extremely proud if yourself!
