Children escape unhurt from Breightmet house fire

First published in News

TWO children escaped from a house fire in Bury Road, Breightmet.

The youngsters were home alone at 12.10pm yesterday when the fire broke out in the kitchen.

Neighbours alerted fire crews who used a fan to get rid of smoke from the kitchen.

The children had got out of the house by the time the crew had arrived.

A fire brigade spokesman said: “It looks like the fire began in an unattended pan of food on the cooker.

"Fortunately, no one was injured, but the kitchen has suffered some damage.”

No mention of parent or parents, were the children alone?
I am glad they escaped unhurt, they must have been really scared.
