A REPEATED dangerous and banned driver is back behind bars after flouting road laws again.
Shafqat Hussain, 28, of Rupert Street, Nelson, was jailed for 21 months at Burnley Crown Court after admitting dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
He was also banned for three years and must take an extended driving test. Hussain had also been convicted of possessing cannabis.
In 2006, he was jailed for 12 months after the crown court was told he had clocked 80mph with no lights during a night-time police pursuit.
He had been banned after he went straight through junctions and roundabouts, mounted the pavement, caused pedestrians to scurry for safety and almost smashed into a police car in the pursuit through Nelson’s streets and alleyways.
