POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they are looking to trace in connection with a robbery at a store in Burnley.

A man wearing a balaclava entered the Spar on Manchester Road armed with a kitchen knife at around 9:30pm on Saturday 21 June.

He threatened members of staff and demanded the contents of the till.

The staff handed over £85 in cash before the man made off from the store.

The CCTV images were captured at a nearby premises immediately prior to the robbery.

DS Charles Haynes said: “I would urge anybody who recognises this man or has any information that could assist us with our investigation to contact myself or DC Uppal on 01282 472518.”

The offender is described as being white, approximately 6ft tall with broad shoulders and a stocky build. At the time he was wearing dark clothing and footwear. It is believed that he lives in the local area.
