A LOUT who assaulted his disabled dad after the victim complained he had been in bed all day, had been fast asleep beside tented cannabis plants, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates were told how Mark Rooth, 20, had pushed Graeme Rooth, 63, causing him to smash his head against the wall - and the bang was so loud a neighbour heard it. Police arrived to find Mr Rooth crying and injured and then discovered the drugs growing in the defendant's bedroom.
Jobless Rooth, who has a criminal record, admitted assault by beating on March 10 and producing cannabis. The defendant, of Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, was bailed for pre- sentence report.
