TWO top celebrity chefs from Bolton have been asked to help host a special charity fundraising dinner in aid of Hospitality Action.

Paul Heathcote MBE and Debbie Halls Evans, winner of Channel 4’s The Taste, have been selected to create a four-course meal with matching wines and a Champagne and canapé reception.

Award-winning Mr Heathcote, from Farnworth, who received his honour from the Queen in 2009, took over the job as catering boss at Bolton Whites Hotel last September — where the evening will take place, on Thursday, October 9.

Mrs Halls-Evans, who lives in Blackrod, hopes her food will create as much of a stir as it did on the TV cookery show featuring Nigella Lawson, which she won earlier this year.

TV chef Andrew Nutter will also be taking part, along with executive chef of The Seafood Company, Antony Shirley, and Heathcote & Co executive chef Jonathon Retallick.

Mr Heathcote said: “Hospitality Action is a charity close to my heart just as the industry is and working with industry personalities such as Andrew Nutter and Antony is going to be just right — it will be a heartwarming evening full of great food.”

Ms Halls Evans said: “The opportunity to work alongside well established and talented chefs to help raise money for such a good cause will be an amazing experience. This is the chance for me to show people from my hometown exactly what I’m made of. I will be using all the skills I learnt on The Taste to put together my creations, and hopefully everyone will enjoy all the courses.”

Hospitality Action helps those who have worked in the industry.

Penny Moore, chief executive of Hospitality Action, added: “I am absolutely delighted to have the support of Paul and all of the fantastic chefs involved. Their expertise and experience will undoubtedly make this night a fantastic success. We are looking forwarding to seeing all the chefs combine their personalities and talent to make this a really unique fundraising dinner.”
