AN inquest has opened into the death of a Bolton man who died while on holiday in Turkey.

David Burke, aged 50, died in the Turkish coastal town of Marmaris but his family are yet to find out the details of how he lost his life.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned at Bolton Coroners Court and a pre-inquest review has been scheduled for August 29.

Online tributes have poured in for Mr Burke, whose body was flown back to Bolton and formally identified by his family.

David Mills said on Facebook: “One of the best gone too soon, rest in peace Burky.”

James Derby said: “Another good lad gone too soon.”

Annette Gibson, who knew Mr Burke, said she was in Marmaris at the same time.

She said: “I actually had the news report translated for me by staff at our hotel, it was a shock.

“I hope the family find out some answers.”
