PLANS to transform derelict land in Kearsley into a children's play area were revealed at the town's area forum meeting.
A sketch design has been drawn up of the proposed site in Mossfield Road, which would include a multi-purpose sports area, picnic area, grass paths and a natural play area.
The site is expected to take around two years to complete and could cost around £50,000.
Community interest company Profitts will write a bid for the proposals and grants would be provided by The National Lottery and Community First, a Bolton at Home initiative which funds neighbourhood projects across Bolton.
An action group consisting of around 15 members has also been set up, with several meetings held by residents of the Mossfield Road area.
Chris Wood, community development officer at Bolton at Home, presented the proposed plans.
The Kearsley area forum meeting took place at Kearsley Mount Methodist Church in Manchester Road.
