THIS little lad is the latest addition to the Longworth Clough nature reserve near Belmont.
The Exmoor pony foal joins five of the rare breed, who have been tasked with keeping plants down to manageable levels on the reserve.
The ponies belong to Michael Dewhurst, but join sheep and cattle as part of Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s conservation grazing team, managed by grazing officer Sian Parry and reserve officer John Haddon.
They spend time in parts of the reserve chomping down long grass and shrubs and leaving areas where native plants can thrive.
Mr Haddon said: “It was exciting when the foal was born and after four days it seems to be doing really well. We have not decided on a name yet.”
