Historic Bolton Wanderers dugout seats from Reebok Stadium up for sale as club rebrands

WANDERERS fans can pick up a piece of club history by purchasing a dugout seat with the old Reebok logo on.

The Whites’ ground, which was opened as the Reebok Stadium in 1997, is changing its name and will be re-branded as the Macron Stadium from July 1.

The club announced a sponsorship deal with the Italian sportswear company in April, ending a 17 year association with Reebok.

The Reebok logo and seating inside the ground has been replaced to show the emblem of the Italian firm and now the famous dug-out seats with the Reebok logo, installed in 2008, are up for grabs.

A page has been set-up on the Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Co Ltd Ebay page where Whites fans are told they can “pick up a piece of Bolton Wanderers History” by buying a Reebok dugout seat.

The description reads: “Embroidered with the club crest, these seats have been subjected to various weather conditions throughout their service at the Reebok and may show some ‘wear and tear’ — but this further authenticates the product.”

The notes go on to suggest that any number of international players and managers may have sat in the chairs including Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Cristiano Ronaldo as well as Wanderers legends Kevin Davies and Ivan Campo.

Fans are told that they will receive a letter of authentication with each seat and that they must pick up their purchase from the stadium within seven days of the auction’s closing day, which falls on June 30 at 9.25pm.

It is also stated that “payment is required immediately” for the famous seats.

There are 17 seats in total up for grabs with current bids ranging from £155 up to £420 — some lots are set to close on Monday evening while others will end on Tuesday.

It will ALWAYS be the Reebok. Macron sounds more like a bl00dy chemical than a sportswear manufacturer.
