ENGLAND fans in Blackburn have shown they are among the most patriotic in the country, if betting figures are to be believed.

Despite losing both their opening games and already having been knocked out of the World Cup, 86 per cent of William Hill betters in Blackburn believe England will beat Costa Rica tonight.

Joe Crilly from the firm said: “England have gone out after two passable performances and despite this being a dead rubber, English fans have one last opportunity to get behind the boys.”

William Hill has also commissioned a survey that found Brazil are the new side to follow in the World Cup, with 18 per cent of the English public backing the Samba Boys and 14 per cent supporting Holland.
