A MAN has been charged in connection with two assaults which took place during a music festival in Prestwich.

Leon Anthony Wong, aged 31, of Elstree Court, Widnes, Cheshire, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, affray and causing actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear before Manchester city magistrates tomorrow.

The GBH charge relates to an assault on a man who was kicked in the head during the Parklife Weekender festival in Heaton Park earlier this month.

The ABH charge offence relates to another man who was punched in the face at the same event.

Det Insp Richard Eales, of Greater Manchester Police said: "The charges in no way relate to the attack on Robert Hart.

"It is important the judicial process is allowed to run its course and the case heard unprejudiced in a court of law and I would urge people not to speculate or pass comment about this incident, especially on social media."
