Busy calendar for runners

A number of juniors competed in the Westhoughton Aquathlon – a distance swim followed by transition and then a run, hosted by Bolton Triathlon Club.
Distances vary on age and ability but with a fantastic club turnout some juniors also pushed themselves and moved up a level which was a fantastic achievement.
Well done to Chorley coach Nicola Rothwell who competed in the senior race.
The first 2014 Badger (10K) race in Cuerden park attracted 14 Chorley athletes with Robert Walsh (10th), Ainsley Murphy (11th), Jonathon Mattock (21st), Paul Wareing (28th) and Bill Beckett (32nd) all leading the team home.
A hard couple of weeks now with five club races starting with the Preston Inter-Club road race at Penwortham today, June 11, followed immediately by Two Lads fell race from Horwich on Thursday.
The next week also has a double header starting on Wednesday, June 18 with the Horwich Jubilee CLGP race at Rivington and afterwards the Inter-Club fell race of Aggies Staircase in Darwen on Thursday, June 19.
This then gives way to our own hosted fell race of Great Hill (5.75) at Brinscall on Saturday, June 21, at which club members are asked to run or help marshal.
