To mark World Environment Day and Keep Britain Tidy’s 60th anniversary, a number of successful litter picks have taken place across Leyland.
Local firms, organisations, community groups, school children and councillors all got their hands dirty in a bid to do something positive for the environment.
Organised by South Ribble Borough Council’s Leyland Neighbourhood Forum in partnership with McDonalds, eight litter picks took place, covering each ward in Leyland.
Community groups involved with the big tidy up included the Broadfield Community Association, the Leyland Project, New Progress Housing and Turning Point – The Mill.
