TWO men who stole a handbag from a house while the homeowner was in the front garden have been caught on camera. 

The burglars entered the property in Lowercroft Road, Bury just before 4pm on May 26 from the back garden through an unlocked conservatory.

They stole a handbag containing cash and a mobile phone before climbing over a fence into the grounds of the Rose and Crown pub. They got into a silver Peugeot 206 and drove off towards Bury.

The men are described as white, the first in his mid to late twenties with a slim build.

He was between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, with hair that was shaved at the sides and longer on top. He was wearing a blue jumper, blue jogging bottoms and Adidas trainers and carrying a purple or burgundy bag.

The second man is described as aged in his thirties, of a large stocky build and with a shaved head. He was wearing a cream jumper and black trousers.

Detective Constable Daniel Whitaker said: "We are very keen to speak to these two men to eliminate them from our enquiries and would ask if anyone recognises them that they contact police. Alternatively if this is you we would urge you to make contact."
