BOLTON curry queen Anjali Pathak will be swapping bhajis for bikes when she takes on a challenge of a lifetime.
For the 33-year-old ambassador for the famous Indian food brand Patak’s is set to cycle from one end of Rajasthan to the other to raise money for the Action Against Hunger charity.
India has one of the highest rate of child malnutrition in the world and the charity aims to help combat this.
Anjali — who has roots in the Indian subcontinent — has been involved with the charity for several years.
She said: “Being a chef I am surrounded by food. A simple luxury and it’s all too easy to forget how many go without this basic need every single day.”
Just £10 will provide enough milk and vitamins to feed a child for a week, said Anjali, who is hoping Bolton News readers will dig deep to help the charity.
Anjali, who is training hard for the 400 kilometre cycle challenge which takes place in October, was brought up in Bolton and has been involved in her family’s business all her life.
She is passionate about food but also passionate about helping others which is why she agreed to take on this challenge.
She added: “I do ride a bike but have never done anything like this.”
