GUNMEN targeted the home of a man jailed in December for his part in a “fake police” robbery gang.

Richard Clancy, aged 27, is serving a 13-and-a-half-year sentence for his role in the gang’s robberies in Bolton, Salford, Boothstown, and parts of Lancashire and West Yorkshire.

At about 10.45pm on Saturday, two men arrived at a house in Crescent Drive, Little Hulton and fired a shot at a front window.

A woman who was in the house at the time was unhurt.

The suspects were both wearing tracksuits with hooded tops, one of which was blue.

The incident was the fifth of a spate of recent shootings in Salford, the first of which came on May 2 when shots were fired at a stationary car in Coronation Street, Pendlebury.

Senior figures from both Salford City Council and Greater Manchester Police have held talks regarding the incidents.

The meetings, which took place on Monday, are understood to have centred on the offer of a reward for information in connection with one of the shootings.

It is understood that GMP is considering offering the reward for help solving a shooting at the Ashley Brook pub in Liverpool Street, Salford on May 26, in which a man was shot multiple times in the torso.

It is not thought that any of the shootings are linked.

Clancy and three other men were convicted last year for conning their way into people’s homes by dressing in police uniform and carrying fake ID cards, before ransacking the house inside.
