Amir Khan changes spelling of daughter's name from Lamysa to Lamysah

This Is Lancashire: Amir Khan with his newborn baby Lamysah Khan - not Lamysa any more. Amir Khan with his newborn baby Lamysah Khan - not Lamysa any more.

BOLTON boxer Amir Khan has changed the spelling of his daughter’s name.

On Friday, the new father announced the arrival of baby Lamysa but later corrected it to Lamysah.

The 27-year-old wrote on Twitter: “Decided to call our baby LAMYSAH not LAMYSA. It sounds the same but we added the H at the end of it as Islamically it's the right spelling."

In a further post, he wrote: “Lamysah means soft and gentle.”

The former WBA and IBF light-welterweight boxer uploaded several photographs of himself cradling the tot, as well as a picture of dozens of presents and balloons spread across the family’s pool table.

Lamysah, who was born at 4.05am on Friday, is the first child for the pair who married in June last year.

Glad to be kept up to date with all that is so important.
This is wonderful news. What about the latest news about Nellie from Astley Bridge?
Having an American owned paper in Bolton is good for Bolton, Bury, Leigh and the North West. Is this what they call 'Freedom of the press'? We need more coverage of 'Our Superstars'.

Come off it BN reporting such drivel is pathetic. So the new name means soft and gentle; seems to me the staff at the BN are soft in the head. Enough of this FFS.

You're missing three apostrophes from your post, ironically.

I am so glad that the BN has printed this article regarding the spelling of the name of the wonderful new arrival. I have been worried sick about it for days now. Why has it taken the BN so long to publish this vital information? Do they have any idea how many people have been spending sleepless nights and taking sick days off work worrying about the name that Amir chose for his new baby? I am just glad it is solved and sorted out now. I can sleep tonight! Oh by the way...my granddaughter has got a new pet rabbit and has chosen her name, she has called her Bluebell. NIce name. If she decides to add an e on the end of it, thus making it "Bluebelle" I will ring the BN immediately!
