A DAY nursery has been rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Inspectors found staff at Marshmallows Day Nursery, in Accrignton, have a strong understanding of how children learn and develop.
Emma Lenihan said in her report: “Staff consistently provide good learning opportunities for developing babies and young children's communication and language skills so they continue to make good progress.
“An effective key person system is firmly embedded and contributes to positive relationship with parents so children are happy, well cared for and enjoy their time in the nursery.”
She said the provision was not yet outstanding because opportunities for children to further develop their existing good levels of independence weree not fully explored.
The inspector said there was also room to extend supervision arrangements to monitor and further enhance staff performance to include planned peer observations so staff can build on their already good practice.
