Groups and organisations across can receive a welcome boost to their funds in a scheme this month.

Chorley Borough Council is offering grants of up to £500 each to groups in the voluntary, community or faith sector operating in the borough.

Eligible groups have four weeks until June 6, to apply for Small Community Grant funding and application forms will be available on the council’s website chorley.gov.uk.

Chorley Council chief executive Gary Hall said: “We’ve put a pot of money aside to help these groups in the borough because they do vital work in our community and we’re keen to support them. I’d urge them to get their applications in as soon as possible.”

Groups applying for the funding must be a voluntary, community, faith sector group operating within the borough of Chorley and the organisation must have a group bank account.
