BLACKBURN and District Model Aircraft Club has given another £630 to Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Several committee members visited the Chorley centre for youngsters with terminal and life-limiting illnesses to hand over the cheque.
Derian House has been one of the club’s nominated charities for several years and needs £2.9million a year in donations to keep going.
The £630.15 was raised by club members at their midsummer model rally and from local business donations during 2013.
While the committee members were at the hospice, its children were treated to some electric model flying and allowed to closely examine the aircraft.
Club secretary Kevin Watson allowed the children some hands-on flying experience with a miniature quadcopter and invited them to attend the rally from June 6 to 8.
They will have ring-side seats watching expert pilots demonstrating their skills.
