BUSES had to be diverted after a car crash near the junction of Manchester Road and Dumers Lane in Bury.

The accidents happened just before 10am today, when a red Nissan Micra crashed into a green Toyota Avensis.

A 36-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

Police investigating the crash closed the road and 135-service buses were diverted via Dumers Lane and Radcliffe Road.

Police said both vehicles have been removed from the scene and the road was fully reopened at 11am.

However, motorists are being advised to prepare for delays along Manchester Road and Bury New Road following a series of other crashes and car fires on the M60 motorway earlier today.
