PARALYMPIAN and triple medal swimmer Hannah Russell gave an inspirational talk to youngsters at Bury Catholic Prep School.
The talented 17-year-old, who won a silver and two bronzes at the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London, jumped at the chance to address the pupils at the Manchester Road school after being approached by year three teacher Samantha Gaskell.
Mrs Gaskell said: “Hannah is a relative of mine and lives in London. When I heard she was in the area I got in contact with her and she said she would be happy to come to the school and talk about her experiences. Basically, she said that if you’ve got a dream, go for it and commit to something.”
Hannah, who is visually impaired, spent 45 minutes at the school and won a new legion of young fans.
Hannah is now on the Road to Rio programme for the 2016 Paralympic Games.
