AN elderly man had to be rescued after falling through floorboards at his Sharples home.

The 70-year-old-man was left with injured feet after becoming trapped inside the house in Florence Avenue this afternoon.

Police and an ambulance confirmed they were called to the address at 2.50pm.

Paramedics had to lift the man out.
