THE pints are flowing again at a landmark Bolton pub after a £120,000 revamp.
Doors opened at The Ainsworth Arms in Halliwell Road, on Thursday, for the first time since it was bought by Welcome Taverns in November.
Welcome Taverns, which also own the Brewhouse in Blackburn Road, the Thomas Egerton in Egerton and the Blackworks at Dunscar Bridge – which houses the micro brewery – have promised to restore the Ainsworth’s reputation as the focal point of the local community.
Operations director Josh Lee said it was relief finally to get the pub open following the refurbishment.
“We had a bit of structural work to do, but we believe we have managed to restore the local community pub emphasis, with the focus on traditions put games, real ale and some unusual drinks,” he said.
“There are also some European beers which are not available anywhere else in Bolton.”
Included in the Ainsworth Arms offering is the Dunscar Bridge Northern range – True North, Northern Sky and Northern Storm.
The basic layout of the split-level pub is much the same as it was previously with a separate snug area.
“We’ve tried to maintain the traditional feel, but made it contemporary,” said Mr Lee.
