A FORMER Radio One DJ who inspired local group Darwen Music Projects will perform a set in the town later this year.
Andy Kershaw, described by TV star Stephen Fry as ‘the finest British broadcaster bar none’, will be at Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap in Bridge Street on Friday, July 4.
Organiser Gary Ward, founder of DMP, said: “I am very excited about this as he has been a massive inspiration to Darwen Music Projects. The music that he played on his late night Radio One show has directly shaped the music that we like to promote at Number 39, and previously the first six Darwen Live festivals that we organised.”
Tickets are £8 can from the bar or by sending a cheque to Darwen Music Projects, Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap, Bridge Street, Darwen, Lancs, BB3 2AA.
