EAST Lancashire residents are being encouraged to hit swap four wheels for two feet for National Walking Month in May.
National charity Living Streets are encouraging people to walk to school or work during May, while raising awareness of the benefits of walking.
Living Streets champions pedestrians and campaigns for a safe, attractive streets where people want to walk.
From May 12 to 16 they will be promoting Walk to Work week, and from May 19 to 23 it will be Walk to School week.
Tony Armstrong, Living Streets’ chief executive, said: “Walking 20 minutes a day can help you lose pounds and save cash.”
