JACK Morrin, 10, was over the moon when he led his beloved Ipswich Town out at Ewood Park on Saturday.

And it was a homecoming of sorts for the Morrin family, which has its roots in Darwen.

Jack’s great grandparents Michael and Annie lived in Birch Hall Avenue for many years and were keen Rovers fans.

Jack, who lives in London, represented the East Anglia club during Saturday’s Championship fixture which saw Rovers win 2-0.

Dad Ben said: “My dad, Michael, lived in Darwen but moved to Ipswich, which is where I was born.

“Despite the result, Jack loved the day and got to meet Jordan Rhodes, who is one of his heroes because of his Ipswich days.”
